ZanQue Aqua Farms Limited, established in 2004 in Zanzibar, Tanzania, is a leading force in sustainable seaweed farming and distribution. With over two decades of experience, we have grown from a modest operation to a producer of over 5,500 metric tons annually. Our expertise spans the farming and processing of diverse seaweed varieties such as Eucheuma cottonii and Eucheuma spinosum, which are essential to global industries including food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and agriculture. By combining traditional farming methods with modern practices, ZanQue ensures premium quality, ethical sourcing, and eco-conscious operations at every stage.
At the heart of ZanQue’s mission is community empowerment. We work closely with over 450 local farmers—primarily women—offering fair compensation, training, and ongoing support. Our approach uplifts rural livelihoods, promotes gender equity, and fosters long-term sustainability.
